  New York Rep presents the world premiere of Michelle Kholos Brooks’ War Words, to run Nov. 10 – Dec. 17 (opening Nov. 14) at A.R.T./New York Theatres, directed by Sarah Norris.

  The cast is comprised of US military veterans, as well as veteran NY stage and television actors: David Alan Basche (John), Maggie Bofill (Jennifer), Donald Calliste (Nate), John Concado (Matt), Jennean Farmer (Amy), Bethany Geraghty (Kimberly), Brandon Jones (Steve), Kevin Loreque (Dan F.), Matthew Nititow (James), Haythem Noor (Janis), Alysia Reiner (Emily), Joshua David Robinson (Nash), John Siciliano (Pete), and Jakob Von Eichel (Danny).

  Based on the playwright’s interviews with veterans of the 20-year Long War and their families, War Words is composed of heroic and heartbreaking stories of the veterans, families, and allies of people who served: those who came home, and those who were left behind. The playwright and NewYorkRep have felt that there was always a need for civilians to better understand the motivation and sacrifice one makes to serve.

Jan Buttram’s Willy will debut on Nov. 21 at Open Door Playhouse, directed by Bernadette Armstrong.

Matt Ritchey, Gena Kay, and Ayla Rose Barreau.

 Suffering from PTSD, Willy continues to struggle in his day-to-day life, haunted by the psychological trauma he suffered while serving in Vietnam, and the subsequent divorce from the love of his life, and separation from his daughter, whom he adores.
