  The world premiere of  Kyle Falconer, Laura Wilde & Johnny McKnight’s No Love Songs will run Sept. 27 – Oct. 20 at CT’s Goodspeed, directed by Andrew Panton & Tashi Gore.

  Scott Elmgreen & Drew Fornarola’s The Ghost of John McCain will run Sept. 3 – Nov. 5 (opening Sept. 24) at Soho Playhouse, directed by Catie Davis.

  Last minute script changes will include a character based on newly named presidential candidate Kamala Harris.

  The play thrusts the late Senator into an afterlife he never expected when he finds that “heaven” is inside Trump’s brain. There, he encounters a “Greek Chorus” of iconic figures, including Hillary Clinton, Roy Cohn, Eva Perón, Teddy Roosevelt, Robert Jordan, Lindsey Graham, George W. Bush, Tiffany Trump, Grizabella from CATS, Barack Obama, Kanye West, Grant Woods, Elizabeth Warren, Taylor Swift, Joe Biden, Sarah Palin, Eric Trump, Clint Eastwood — and now Kamala Harris — who rebel against the former President’s relentless demands for affirmation.

  Virginia Stage has announced its 2024-25 season:

  Arsenic and Old Lace (Sept. 4-22), by Joseph Kesselring.

  Dracula: A Feminist Revenge (Oct. 16 – Nov. 3), by Kate Hamill.  This story of Dracula is unlike any you’ve ever seen — follow these reinvigorated characters through the dark in this disquieting, yet comedic drama that explores the nature of predators, monsters, and the terrors of everyday life. This re-imagined tale of Bram Stoker’s classic reveals new monsters beneath the skin and drives a stake right through the patriarchy.

   Merry Little Christmas Carol  …and… A Sherlock Carol  in rep (Dec. 4-29), both by Mark Shanahan.  Moriarty is dead, to begin with, and Sherlock is a haunted man. But when a grown Tiny Tim comes knocking on his door asking for an investigation into the untimely death of Mr. Ebenezer Scrooge, the Great Detective must use his gifts to solve a Dickens of a Christmas mystery!
