  The Crown Jewels, by Simon Nye, directed by Sean Foley, featuring Al Murray (King Charles II/Talbot Edwards), Mel Giedroyc (Mrs. Edwards/French Noblewoman), Carrie Hope Fletcher (Elizabeth Edwards/Lady of the Bedchamber), Aidan McArdle (Colonel Blood), Neil Morrissey (Captain Perrot/Tourist), Joe Thomas (Tom Blood Jr./Tourist), Tanvi Virmani (Jenny Blaine/Jailer), Adonis Siddique (Wythe Edwards/Footman), Dedun Omole (Footman), Ryan Lane (William Smith/Footman), Kieran Brown (Footman), and Emma Bown (Footman), opens at London’s  Garrick Theatre.

  Commonwealth Shakespeare Company‘s FREE Macbeth, directed by Steven Maler, featuring Faran Tahir (Macbeth), Joanne Kelly (Lady Macbeth), Marianna Bassham (Malcolm), Jesse Hinson (First Witch), Nael Nacer (Macduff), Maurice Emmanuel Parent (Banquo), Joe Penczak (Duncan/Siward), Daniel Rios Jr. (Ross), Fred Sullivan Jr. (Seargeant/Porter/Doctor), and Eviva Rose (Young Macduff), with Lily Ayotte, Nick Baum, John Blair, Elijah Brown, Annika Burley, Alexa Cadete, Jack Greenberg, Jessica Golden, Bella Grace Harris, Cleveand Nicoll, and Xander Viera, opens at the Boston Commons.

  Lucy Arnaz: I GOT THE JOB! Songs From My Musical Past concert opens at NYC’s 54 Below.

  Second Stage Theater‘s Toros, by Danny Teiera, directed by Gaye Taylor Upchurch, featuring Abubakr Ali, Frank Wood, and Juan Castano, begins previews at Off-Broadway’s McGinn/Cazale Theater.

  Oklahoma, National Theatre’s production, directed by Trevor Nunn, featuring Hugh Jackman (Curly), Maureen Lipman (Aunt Eller), Josefina Gabrielle (Laurie), Shuler Hensley (Jud Fry), Vicki Simon (Ado Annie), Jimmy Johnston (Will Parker) and Peter Polycarpou (Ali Hakim), screens in movie theaters worldwide.

  An invitation-only pre-Broadway workshop of Jonathan Abrams’s The Heart of Rock & Roll will take place Aug. 4 in NYC, directed by Gordon Greenberg, with choreography by Lorin Latarro, and music direction by Will Van Dyke.

Jonah Platt, Katie Rose Clarke, John Dossett, Tamika Lawrence, Manu Narayan,  Billy Harrigan Tighe, Hailee Kaleem Wright, F.   The musical follows Bobby, a Chicagoan whose failed band leads to him returning to corporate America. While working, he meets his boss, Cassandra, who has also traded in her personal life for a professional one. Together, the two realize their dreams when Bobby gets another shot at stardom and Cassandra is up for the CEO job.

  Lincoln Center Theater will present Michael John LaChiusa’s The Gardens of Anuncia, with previews beginning Oct. 19 and an opening set for Nov. 20 at the Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater, directed & choreographed by Graciela Daniele, with music direction by Deborah Abramson.

  Priscilla Lopez (Anuncia), Enrique Acevedo, Andréa Burns, Eden Espinosa, Tally Sessions, Mary Testa, and Kalyn West.

  Inspired by an early life story of Daniele’s, the tango-infused musical centers on Anuncia as she reflects on her childhood in Juan Perón’s Argentina and the women in her family who encouraged her artistic dreams.

  Lynn Nottage’s Clyde’s has been extended through Aug. 5 at TheaterWorks Hartford, directed by Mikael Burke.

A truck stop sandwich shop offers its formerly incarcerated kitchen staff a shot at reclaiming their lives. Even as the shop’s tough-as-nails owner tries to keep them under her thumb, the crew is given purpose and permission to dream by their shared quest to create the perfect sandwich.

  The world premiere of Stephen Sondheim & Davis Ives’s Here We Are, will run Sept. 28 – Jan. 7, 2024 (opening Oct. 2) at The Shed, directed by Joe Mantello, with choreography by Sam Pinkleton, and music direction by Alexander Gemignani.

  Francois Battiste, Tracie Bennett, Bobby Cannavale, Micaela Diamond, Amber Gray, Jin Ha, Rachel Bay Jones, Denis O’Hare, Steven Pasquale, David Hyde Pierce, and Jeremy Shamos, with Bradley Dean, Adam Harrington, Bligh Voth, Adante Carter, Mehry Eslaminia, and Lindsay Nicole Chambers.

 A couple is less than three hours married and on a train to New York City to celebrate their honeymoon. As they get closer to their destination, they banter over their families, fashion and the institution of marriage itself. Should they even have gotten married? All the while, they desperately avoid discussing what generally happens on the first night of a marriage.

  Amas Musical Theatre will present Mimi Zieman’s The Post Roe Monologues on July 31 (6 PM) and  Aug. 1 (1 PM & 4 PM), at NYC’s Ripley Grier Studios, directed by Maria Torres.  here.

  The piece explores the real world consequences of the overturning of Roe v. Wade based on interviews and the experience of the author as an OB/GYN. The play is an intimate character-driven evening that will compel conversation and compassion.
