Today’s Highlights:

  Alabaster, by Audrey Cefaly, directed by Casey Stangl, featuring Laura Gardner, Carolyn Messina, Virginia Newcomb, and Erin Pined, opens at LA’s Fountain Theatre.

  A presentation of  Matthew Namik & Angelique Fustukjian’s The King & I, and Paul will take place Sat. Feb. 22 at 7:30 PM at Hollywood’s Feury Studio Theatre, directed by Wayne Remington.

  Susan and Paul are a seemingly average couple navigating the milestone of moving in together. Amidst unpacking, Paul makes a critical mistake that sends the couple spiraling into comedic chaos as they attempt to cover up the damage before an unexpected guest arrives.

  A Knight’s Tale will run Apr. 11 – May 10 at the UK’s Manchester Opera House, written & directed by Brian Helgeland, with choreography by Matt Cole.  The jukebox musical will utilize existing pop tunes.

  A 14th century peasant squire who breaks all the rules when he passes himself off as a nobleman and takes the jousting world by storm. The only thing that stands between him and his dream of becoming the World Champion is the bad boy of the sport, Count Adhemar.

  The York Theatre will present Stevie Holland, Garry William Friedman & Will Holt’s Platinum Dreams, to run Mar. 8-16 at Theatre at St. Jeans, directed by Joseph Hayward, with choreography by Kody Jauron, with music direction by Dave Klodowski.

  Stevie Holland (Lila Halliday), Conor Ryan (Dan Hardin), and Jovan E’Sean (Jamie Stiles).

  Set in 1977, with a score encompassing 70’s rock, 40’s big-band, and a contemporary theatre sound, Platinum Dreams tells the story of Lila Halliday, a musical movie star of the 1940’s hoping to make a comeback by recording her first-ever solo album, Dan Hardin, a hot rock ‘n’ roll star looking to keep his relevance on the charts, and Jamie Stiles, a record producer/studio owner who is Dan’s former writing partner and former lover. The story is about how destiny brings together three disparate, talented people with their own agendas, and how they ultimately grow to accept each other and go on with their lives and fulfill their dreams.

  Gingold Theatrical Group will present a script in hand performance of  Shaw’s Doctors Dilemma on Mon. Mar. 7 at 7 PM at Off-Broadway’s The Players, directed by David Staller.

  Nadia Brown, Robert Cucciloi, Judy Gold, Stefamia Gonzalez, David Lee Huynh, Simon Jones, George Dvorsky, Rocco Sisto, James Rana, and Nick Wyman.

  Dr. Ridgeon is a newly knighted doctor who has developed a cure for tuberculosis. He has a limited number of patients he can treat at a time. He selects ten patients he believes are most worthy of being saved. Jennifer Dubedat asks Dr. Ridgeon to save her husband, Louis, an artist dying of tuberculosis. Dr. Ridgeon and his friends discover that Louis is a bigamist and womanizer. Dr. Ridgeon must decide whether to save Louis, an artist, or a poor medical colleague.

  James Baldwin is writing himself into bad health. After two heart attacks, the author returns to New York City for some rest, relaxation and much-needed TLC. First on his itinerary is the iconic jazz club Mikell’s, a favorite hangout, where his brother David tends bar. But things have changed. Mikell’s is closing, and his entourage this night consists of just Maya Angelou and Miles Davis. What’s intended as a celebration turns into an Irish wake for the not-yet deceased, instigated by Miles as James impulsively, on the spot, starts writing an elegy to his beloved old joint. It’s time to par-taayy!!
