A celebration of Billie Holiday will begin Nov. 22 at NYC’s 92Y, with a screening of James Erskine’s new documentary, “Billie,” followed by a live conversation with the director.
The film draws upon hundreds of newly unearthed interviews conducted in the 1970s by journalist Linda Lipnack Kuehl with jazz luminaries, including Count Basie, Tony Bennett, Charles Mingus, and Sylvia Sims, and many more.
