When Harry Potter and the Cursed Child returns to Broadway’s Lyric Theatre on Nov. 16 (tickets on sale July 12), it will be presented as one show instead of in two parts.
In addition, this new version will also begin Jan. 11, 2022 at San Francisco’s Curran Theatre.
Other areas of the world will continue to host the original, two-part version, with the West End production opening on Oct. 14 at the Palace Theatre.

The Al Hirschfeld Foundation‘s latest exhibition, “The Dog Show: Hounds by Hirschfeld” is now available through Aug. 15.
The exhibition features drawings of dogs painted by Hirschfeld between 1924-2001, which appeared in theatre, film, television, music, literature, politics, private commissions, and Hershfeld’s earliest lithographs. Included are some of the most famous dogs in the 20th century media – and some not-so-famous dogs who were well-loved by humans. The dogs seen in this show have been sorted by breed, just as they do in the best dog shows.

The Broadway Live Cinema Festival, previously announced to fun July 15 – Aug. 8 at the AMC Empire 25 has been postponed, citing “unforeseen circumstances.”
The four-week festival was to have included “Chicago,” “West Side Story,” “The Wizard of Oz,” “Little Shop of Horros,” and “In the Heights,” paired with live in-theater performances. Audiences were also to be invited to a special 54 Below pop-up venue at the AMC Rooftop for cabaret performances following each screening.

Colman Domingo is adapting his play Dot into a series, titled “West Philly, Baby,” which he will also direct, and which will stream on AMC’s ALLBLK. Casting is TBA. Production is expected to begin in early 2022.
Dot had its world premiere in 2016 at Actors Theatre of Louisville, and again the same year at Off-Broadway’s Vineyard Theatre, directed by Susan Stroman.
The story centers on family matriarch Dotty, whose three adult children gather for the holidays with more than exchanging present on their minds. As Dotty struggles to navigate life with dementia, her children fight to balance care for their mother and care for themselves. This hilarious and moving play grapples with aging parents, midlife crises and the heart of an inner city neighborhood.
