   N.T. Vandecar’s Otherkin will run Sept. 23 – Nov. 2 (opening Sept. 26) at North Hollywood’s Road on Magnolia, directed by Christina Carlisi.

 

  Nychelle Hawk (Olive), Stephany Erb (Vivian/Grael), Justin Lawrence Barnes (Lucax), Andre G. Brown (Darren/Fafnir), and Arthur Hanket (Howy/Naelyan).

 

  Olive is 14 years old and identifies as a dragon. It’s three weeks till the end of the world and all hell has broken loose. Olive is searching for her biological mother, just met her biological father and his husband and, on top of everything, she is visited by three “Elemental Guardians” who inform her that she’s the one who must save mankind.

  Drew Droege’s Messy White Gays will begin previews Oct. 6 and open Nov. 2 at The Duke Theatre, directed by Mike Donahue.

  The sharp-penned and quick-witted diarist of the contemporary homosexual—shines a harsh overhead light on the pores of White Gaydom, revealing what happens when throuples crumble, neighbors bicker, and rich and pretty clash with hot and dumb. It’s Sunday morning in Hell’s Kitchen. Brecken and Caden have just murdered their boyfriend and stuffed his body into a Jonathan Adler credenza. Unfortunately, they’ve also invited friends over for brunch. And they’re out of limes! Feel bad for them! They’re MESSY WHITE GAYS!

  Julia Genoveva’s The Selfless sister will run Sept. 19-21 at Off-Broadway’s Producers Club Theatre (258 W. 44th St.) Sept. 19 (6:30 PM), Sept. 20 (6:30 PM) and Sept. 21 (3 PM). 

 

  Nicole Geller (Amanda), Gustavo “Gus” Ferrari (Ernesto), and Fraccalvieri (Michael).

 

  The Selfless Sister reunites Amanda, Ernesto, Marisol and Marisol’s husband, Michael, after their mother’s death to attend the funeral service. They have not seen each other in five years. The unexpected death of their father five years ago, was the catalyst that caused a divide in the family. While Amanda was the sole caretaker of their mother-she has quietly been making plans of her own. And now that they are all back together, she is ready to tell the family what her true plans are. During the five years they have been apart they have all turned into different people.  The play examines the family dynamics and the tension that can ensue when families that have grown apart and then reunite to deal with plans as well as, personalities and family history.

   Sag Harbor’s Bay Street Theatre will present Ray Bradbury’s Fahrenheit 451 Nov. 13-30, directed by Stephen Hamilton.

   The story follows Guy Montag, a loyal fireman who begins to question his role in a society built on censorship, distraction, and fear. What begins as a simple doubt sparks into full rebellion, as Montag dares to imagine a world where knowledge and free thought might once again survive. With its themes of censorship, media  saturation, and the fight for truth, the play resonates powerfully in today’s world, reminding audiences of the ongoing struggle to protect free expression.

  Danny showed promise as a talented writer. Crushed by publishing house rejections and a troubled past, he now ekes out a living as a street clown, entertaining children in the park. At least he gets to make them smile.

Based on a true story, Lady Patriot reveals an intimate look into the prejudices and patriotism of three ladies who lived during the Civil War: Varina Davis, Elizabeth Van Lew, and Mary Bowser. Lady Patriot combines Lange’s signature comedy and drama as it peels away traditional stereotypes prevalent in the South during the Confederacy.
