   The world premiere York Theater’s This is Not a Drll, by Holly Doubet, Joseph McDonough & John Vester,  directed &  choreographed by Gabriel Barre, continues through Oct. 11 at Theatre at St. Jeans.

  The musical takes audiences inside the surreal chaos of a morning in 2018, when an emergency alert warned Hawaii residents and visitors of an incoming missile attack. As fear grips the island, strangers and loved ones alike are forced to confront their mortality and their humanity. Set to a soaring and heartfelt score, this powerful new musical tells the story of connection, compassion, and what truly matters when time stands still.

This immersive 90-minute production (with no intermission) recreates the infamous radio drama that blurred the line between fiction and reality, perfectly launching ETC’s season theme of “Truth and Illusion.” Audiences will witness the behind-the-scenes drama as a talented radio troupe performs H.G. Wells’ science fiction masterpiece live, complete with vintage sound effects, period music, and the raw energy that made Orson Welles’ broadcast a cultural phenomenon…

   Remember that one time that the Australian government sent their army with machine guns to wage war on emus in Western Australia? Neither do most people…but when Edith, the headstrong warbler, and her flock begin to feed on the wheat of local farmers–the humans take up arms against Australia’s favorite featered friends. Think of it as Cats, but with emus. It’s the most emusing 90 minutes you’ll have in any theatre–don’t miss it!

  The story of Trevor, a lonesome outsider whose skin turned green and scaly after a tragic childhood encounter with a dragon. Since that time, Trevor only leaves his house once a year, on Monsterfest, and that’s tonight. While out on a first date with new crush Cary, Trevor meets a fellow dragon survivor who fears thedragons have returned. Can Trevor accept who he is, help save his city, and keep his big date?
