  The world premiere of Tony Pasqualini’s Out with a Bang continues through June 28 at Pacific Resident Theatre, directed by Andrew Weyman.

  Eddie Cappiello is trapped, living out his life in the Out With A Bang Senior Living Community. His ex-wife Betty – recently widowed from her second husband – arrives at his door one day and asks him to help her get revenge on a neighbor who has made her life intolerable. Eddie, longing to reawaken the love that the two of them once had, makes the fateful decision to assist in the endeavor. He enlists his good friend and next-door neighbor, a former Israeli accountant and professional mourner, Daniel. The three of them devise a dangerous and blatantly illegal plot to deal with her recalcitrant neighbor.

   The world premiere of Tommy Vine’s How to Put Down the Weight of Your Past will run July 23 – Aug. 9 (opening July 25)  at The American Mime Theare (137 W 25th St.), directed by Madeline Riddick-Seals.

   An immersive, experimental play disguised as a life-changing, self-help workshop. Led by two facilitators, the story initially guides the audience through exercises to release personal trauma and regret, but quickly unravels into a psychological thriller blurring the lines between guidance and manipulation.

  The play explores the fallout of a family dealing with the unexplained, unsolved disappearance of their 15-year-old son, Oscar. The plot fractures time, jumping between three distinct periods: the immediate aftermath of the disappearance, one year later, and seven years later. Faith means believing in something. Especially when it feels impossible. As the years go by and the mystery of the sudden disappearance of Miriam and David’s teenage son remains unsolved, their blended family must figure out how to go on, relearning how to live through the ups and downs of ordinary days in their altered world.
