The world premiere of Mike Kenny’s Winter’s Bench will run Sept. 5 – Oct. 25 at the 24th Street Theatre (1117 West 24th St.), directed by Debbie Devine.

Set in a park where only one ancient tree remains, the play follows Gladys, an elderly woman who has spent a lifetime believing the tree spoke to her when she was a child, and who waits, even now, to hear its voice again. Blending storytelling, live music and imagination, this is both a memory play and a meditation on nature, aging and hope. At a time when forests are disappearing and loneliness is on the rise, Winter’s Bench invites audiences to consider what we lose when we stop listening—to nature, to one another and to the stories that shape us.

Lost in Del Valle, written & performed by Ned Van Zandt will return Sept. 14 – Oct. 14 to the Soho Playhouse, directed by Amir Arison.
The play is the tale of the drug-induced chaos of the Chelsea Hotel in the 1970’s – rubbing shoulders (and more) with Sid Vicious and Nancy Spungeon, the wild parties in the LA music scene with his friend Chaka Khan, and the fluorescent glare of a Texas correctional facility. a genre-bending piece of dark comedy that cannot be missed as Van Zandt takes you through his spiralling descent: sex, fame, addiction, and ultimately, redemption.
