  Adrienne Warren will depart Tina: The Tina Turner Musical on Oct. 31 at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre, “due to other commitments.”

She will be replaced by original cast member Nkeki Obi-Melekwe on Nov. 2,who is currently the alternate for the role of Tina (and also played the role in the West End production) on Nov.2.

  A Hit Dog Will Holler (Nov. 6 – Dec. 12), world premiere by Inda Craig-Galvánm directed by Jon Lawrence Rivera  A social media influencer and a boots-on-the-ground activist form a complex bond of friendship to help each other survive as American racism manifests as a physical form.

  Fluff world premiere (opens Feb. 2022), by Sigrid Gilmer.  An absurdist “disaster film” play about the dark carnival of our current political climate, they hell of other people and — killer pillows.

  Apartment Living (opens May 22), by Boni B. Alvarez. Behaviors change in forced captivity during the pandemic in Los Angeles. Do we like what we learn about the people we love?

  Lavender Men – The Emancipation Play (begins Aug. 2022), by Roger Q. Mason. Enter the historical fantasia of Taffeta, a self-proclaimed “fabulous queer creation of colo,” as she invades the private world of Abraham Lincoln to confront issues of LGETQ+ inclusion and visibility that sill challenge us today.

  Milwaukee’s Skylight Music Theatre presents Paul Gordon & Jay Gruska’s new musical, Being Earnest, which will stream for FREE Sept. 17-18 at 7 PM ET, directed by Michael Unger.

On Oct. 30, 2013, Off-Broadway’s MCC Theater presented John Pollono’s Small Engine Repair. Now it has become a major motion picture, which is now available in select theaters, and will be available for streaming online in October. (release date TBA).

The Royal Shakespeare Company has announced that artistic director Gregory Doran will take a period of compassionate leave to care for his husband, legendary Shakespearean actor Antony Sher, who has been diagnosed with a terminal illness.

Sher, 72, earned a Tony nomination in 1997 for starring in the Broadway play Stanley, and also appeared on Broadway in Primo in 2005. Over the course of his five-decade career, the South African native became one of Britain’s most esteemed classical actors, tackling roles including Richard III, Shylock, Titus, Macbeth, Prospero, Falstaff, and Lear. Most, if not all, were performed for his longtime theatrical home at the Royal Shakespeare Company.

* The Play You Want (Sept. 25 at 7:30 PM PT), by Bernardo Cubría, directed by Michael John Garcés. Fed up by the theatre world’s desire to box him in, Mexican playwright Bernado Cubría sarcastically pitches Nar-Cocos, a play about drug dealers on Dia de los Muertos.

* Third Person (Sept. 26 at 1 PM PT), by Jennifer Maisel, directed by Emily Chase. A woman longs to find herself in the middle of her dreaming mind. A man struggles to reconcile his past transgressions with his current life. What every day choices add up to a life together.

* The Skelton Flower (Sept. 26 at 7:30 PM PT), by  Elizabeth Sampson, directed by Christian Lebano. Middle-aged and divorced sisters Denise and Darla find out what a Black Beetle, a piece of jewelry, and a special flower have to do with their mom, Jean, and how that knowledge will unlock the secrets of the family.
