Dan Laura has assembled a cast of well-known actors who read Letters from War Veterans, on Wed. Nov. 11 at
Jonathan Banks, Kim Brockington, Dan Laura, Joe Mantegna, Sam McMurray, Lou Diamond Phillips, James Pickens, and Reno Wilson.
The actors read these letters in quiet settings, some from war zones, some from unfamiliar place, many written during the lonely hours.

Due to an increase in COVID-19 cases and in response to the City of Milwaukee’s Public Health Order, Milwaukee Rep has cancelled its in person production of Jacob Marley’s Christmas Carol, which was to begin Dec. 1.

However, a fully-realized production will be taped and distributed to a limited number of people on a first com, first served basis. The production will be available to view for $20 during the month of December. Proceed will be used to employ and compensate artists involved with the production.

The play takes place on a single night, July 4, 1944. Matt Freidman, a 40+ accountant from St. Louis and in love for the first time, has driven 200 miles into the heart of the Christian farm belt to propose to Sally Talley, ten years his junior and seemingly not interested in him. Having been met at the door of the family home by Sally’s shotgun toting brother (Jews are not welcome her), Matt retreats to a Victorian folly of a boathouse on the nearby river, where Sally finds him. At first, she is not pleased.
