No one’s happy, people stop being nice, and blood spills. This mash up of myth, missing empathy, and “good neighbors” explores what happens when the mercury rises.

The American Theatre Wing has teamed with the Drama Book Shop to launch the Playreaders Club, a meet-up for reading and discussing plays. The monthly meetings will be held virtually via Zoom and in-person.
The club is open to anyone, and offers tiered levels of membership, ranging in price from $5 – $35 per month.
Each play will be selected by a committee of theatre artists, experts and industry members from the American Theatre Wing Board and Advisory members… which will include Jeanine Tesori (composer), David Henry Hwang (playwright), Clint Ramos z journalist zO, Ayanna Prescod, Leigh Silverman. and author Patrick Pacheco, and talent agent Ben Sands.

The cops assaulted an unarmed Black man, and the ladies won’t release their hostage until he answers their questions.

A Party With Betty Comden & Adolph Green will be re-created by Mallory Portnoy & Nick Blaemire Mar. 3 & 4 at NYC’s Café Carlyle, directed by Maggie Burrows.
The revue was first performed Off-Broadway in 1958, transferring to Broadway later the same year. The show featured Comden and Green telling stories from their illustrious career and singing the songs they co-wrote (as lyricists) with such composers as Leonard Bernstein, Jule Styne, André Previn, and more. The duo brought a revised version of the show back to Broadway in 1977 and then took the show on the road. In 1980, a filmed performance from East Hampton, New York, aired on the PBS series “Summershow.”
